The Gateway of Hope has a state-of-the-art commercial kitchen that is in constant motion. The Community Meal Centre provides meals three (3) times per day to our shelter guests and one(1) time per day to the public, seven (7) days per week, 365 days a year. The Gateway of Hope ensures that those who are in need of a warm meal will be welcomed through the Community Meal Centre.

“Almost 61,000 meals were served to those in need in 2012.”

The kitchen daily operation is accomplished with one cook per shift and 60 or more volunteers each week. The Community Meal Centre (free meal program) is accessible daily on a drop in basis.

During each meal time, fresh donated baked goods like bread, muffins, produce and other staple items are made available for people to take home to supplement their personal health.. Individuals or organizations wishing to donate to our meal program please contact Food Service at the Gateway of Hope.
